Through the support of WJZ, WBAL, and The Sun, this issue was brought to the mayor's office's attention. Because of this, we now have running water!! Thank you!
Our running water was restored on Dec 24 at 6pm.

Water Dept. On Site!
Dry Christmas in Ruxton
Our Baltimore City municipal water failed yesterday, December 23, afternoon at around 4:30, the Four Winds neighborhood and portions of the Riderwood area of Ruxton lost all water pressure. Driving along Malvern, water could be easily seen coming from the center of the street in the 1300 block. We called the problem into the City's call center and got a number of responses. These included; "No, there is not problem there, it's on Allegheny", "No, there is no problem there, it is in Greenspring". Finally after several calls, several members in the community got the information that "someone" had been dispatched as was on the way to examine the problem (6pm). AT 9:00pm, we were told that someone was about to be dispatched, but it was unknown when they would arrive. By 10 pm, several neighbors including myself had called again to see if there was any expected repair time or what the status might be. We were uniformly told that there was no news. Asking for a supervisor produced the response that the supervisor would not come to the phone. When asked if there was any information that we could use, we were told to "make other plans for Christmas".
By early this morning, a worker had appeared who shut down the stream coming from the center of the road. This should prevent additional undermining of Malvern.
I am bewildered by a city which is supposedly running a metrics based management environment does not know where and when someone can be dispatched, has no repair model for projecting repair times or updates (BGE, Verizon and Comcast all provide some form of repair tracking). Aside from a "complaint number" of 610 185, we have nothing.
Any suggestions as to what we can do, would be appreciated. Right now we cannot flush, have no water in the fire hydrants and since most of the houses in the neighborhood are oil fired, circulating hot water there is some concern should he automatic fill fail.
If additional information would prove useful, please post them.
